Heritage Highlands at Dove Mountain is a self-managed active adult gated retirement community of 1297 homes located in Marana, Arizona nestled in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains in Northern Pima County. Our community was started by US Homes/Lennar in 1997 and was turned over to homeowner control 10 years later.

The community is now governed by an seven member elected resident board of directors, who serve 3-year staggered terms. This governing board serves as trustees representing the entire community of over 2,200 residents. The powers and duties of the board of directors are specifically described in the Convenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CCRs) and the Bylaws of this not for profit corporation.

There are six standing committees serving at the pleasure of the Board that are for the most part policy advisory bodies unless the committee duties are more specifically described in the CCRs or the Bylaws. Otherwise the approved purpose of standing committees can be found under the committee tab in the Resource Center.

The day to day operational detail of the corporation is managed by a dedicated employee team under the direction of a general manager. In 2009 Heritage Highlands at Dove Mountain employed 60 full time equivalents, which includes both full and part time employees divided into 3 departments - Golf, Food and Beverage and Administration. The staff receive tremendous support from numerous volunteers, who assist in operational capacities throughout the organization. While some serve on Operating Support Teams others work directly to perform ongoing tasks as class instructors, newsletter proofreaders, or volunteer hostesses just to name of few.
